Also it'd be great if it could pull the # of outbound links as well, that each backlink has. For example, the search term "link:http://www.site.com" has let's say 300 backlinks... It would go through and grab the anchor text of each link. Thanks!

msg:272579 | 6:34 pm on Dec 25, 2004 (gmt 0) | I wrote the script, but am still unclear as to how to interpret the output. Is a backlink to www.example.com the same as to example.com? For example, on a popular news site I see many different names for the same page, resulting in me not recognizing them as backlinks: $ perl backlinks.pl [cnn.com...] [money.cnn.com...] ::External links: 11 [money.cnn.com...] ::External links: 8 [money.cnn.com...] ::External links: 10 [money.cnn.com...] ::External links: 8 [money.cnn.com...] ::External links: 10 [asahi.com...] ::External links: 5 ::http://www.cnn.com/ - CNN.com [newsvac.newsforge.com...] ::External links: 46 ::http://www.cnn.com/2004/TECH/internet/11/30/words.of.the.year.reut/ - Reuters' story ::http://www.cnn.com/ - CNN ::http://www.cnn.com/2004/TECH/internet/11/30/words.of.the.year.reut/ - Reuters' story Sean
