PubConference 2002 - The Outcome
Excellent day was had by all

 9:44 am on Oct 13, 2002 (gmt 0)

Thanks to everyone who attended PubConference 2002 at the Cittie of Yorke yesterday. I hope you all enjoyed the event and picked up some good contacts and extra little tips, that you wouldn't have found if you weren't there. I certainly did.

 10:53 am on Oct 13, 2002 (gmt 0)

An absolute wonderful experience, 1 of those weekends I shall remember for a long time.

The knowledge in the Hotel Looby and Conference was electrifying, and I am very glad I decided to go.

Thanks to Brett and everyone else for such a super job, obviously if I start naming names this thread will go on forever. so Thank You EVERYONE.

 12:50 pm on Oct 13, 2002 (gmt 0)

I can only re-iterate what Shakil said, a good job done by all who made the event happen.

Thanks to Shakil also for being the driver and for dinner. Top guy!

When can I book up for the next one?

Black Knight

A huge day, and again, there were more people to meet than there were hours available to chat to everyone in. I had a great time (again).

Instant highlights include finally putting a face to Brett of course, oh, and seeing another superbly loud tie in the MakeMeTop collection of course ;)

Thanks to all the organisers and sponsors. Next year, perhaps the sponsors will bear in mind how fast we can drink and place a little more behind the bar :)

 1:03 pm on Oct 13, 2002 (gmt 0)

Hello from London, having a great time - see ya in a few days.

Thank you to everyone that pitched in to make it such a stellar event!

See ya in a few days...

Any plans on coming anywhere near Australia anytime soon? This part of the world could really use a little visit! :)

 6:24 pm on Oct 13, 2002 (gmt 0)

The only way to improve on this event is to make it monthly.
Well done both organisers and sponsors.

 7:45 pm on Oct 13, 2002 (gmt 0)

It was a great weekend just awesome.

Thanks to everybody!

 9:40 pm on Oct 13, 2002 (gmt 0)

Hi all, just got back to my little hermitage in Denmark. Hungover and mentally wiped out ;)

SO much knowledge to absorb!

Had a great meet with all the afilliate guys this morning at 10am which for me, was the most valuable time I spent the whole weekend ;)

Nice to meet everyone, bit gutted I didn't get to say hi to Jatar_k and a few others but hey, there was sooooooo much going on!

 11:37 pm on Oct 13, 2002 (gmt 0)

Anyone have pictures to share?

 12:02 am on Oct 14, 2002 (gmt 0)

It was a global event, with people working on the same stuff from all kinds of angles, exchanging freely. Fantastic.
Such diversity in backgrounds and lifestyles - all coming together in a pub and a hotel and making up a picture of what the web really is and how it works.

 12:18 am on Oct 14, 2002 (gmt 0)

Anyone have pictures to share?

Got some 35mm which need developing, and some digital which I will try to get up later this week.

It was another great experience, with a mass of really useful information changing hands.

Big thanks to the sponsors.

 8:15 am on Oct 14, 2002 (gmt 0)

Being very new to all this, the PubCon was a big turning point for me. It was fantastic to experience all this enthusiasm and dedication. I feel so inspired now!

Great to meet you all!

 8:17 am on Oct 14, 2002 (gmt 0)

I never dreamt I would get so much out of an event like this! Thank you to everyone! :)

 8:17 am on Oct 14, 2002 (gmt 0)

Hi everyone - thanks and regards to all. Had a great time although I'm certainly glad to be back in the warmth of Spain!

 8:31 am on Oct 14, 2002 (gmt 0)

Everyone who was there will agree that this was a superb event. My only regrets were not being able to meet more people - there were so many! Many, many thanks to the Sponsors, WebmasterWorld and (of course) Brett in particular for causing this to happen.

Looking forward to the next one :)

 8:35 am on Oct 14, 2002 (gmt 0)

I can only agree with you all!
It was a really fantastic event.
Thanks Brett and thanks everyone to share their experiences and their infinite professional knowledge.

See you next Bar or Pub conference !

 9:02 am on Oct 14, 2002 (gmt 0)

Good to meet so many of you, boy what a hangover!

Nice one Brett, say hello to Shawn? (memory little vague on names...lol) he is one happy guy :)

Nice tie MMT (as always)
Great to meet a local Black_Knight
Thanks for the papers Ian
Great to meet you both (AWR) that was one hell of a ride home, 5 hours!

And thanks to all the sponsors :)

A great, great day, thanks again all

 10:29 am on Oct 14, 2002 (gmt 0)

Wanted to say a big thanks to all at pubconference, had an excellent time! Met some really nice people and didnt feel that intimidated being one of the few "girl geeks" there. Thanks to Brett for organising it and for my prize.

Can't wait for the next one.

 10:53 am on Oct 14, 2002 (gmt 0)

Well worth the 4 hour drive down from the rainy North to meet a whole heap of people with a similar interest in mine. Surprised that nobody would tell me how to make millions compared to my current -$39 yearly income ;) Great to meet Calum, Go60guy, Brett, Diddydazz, Chris, the Google Rep and the Yahoo! girl who both had to listen to me moaning about the recent changes and many, many others.....

Had a superb time and boy, their single malt WAS fantastic...

 11:00 am on Oct 14, 2002 (gmt 0)

Yet another mind-blowing succes. Period!

What a pleasure seeing +200 people all freaked out on search engines, marketing and webmaster stuff. If you weren't there you would hadly believe it.

The value of exchanging knowledge and talking to both likeminded and especially the search engine reps and sponsors, is to me one of the most valuable things that came out of the conference this time.
Hands down, if you are not able to turn the information available there into profit, you weren't listening hard enough :)

Nice meeting all that I haven't met before, and a real pleasure seeing all the 'regulars' again.

Now, back to digesting it all.

 11:13 am on Oct 14, 2002 (gmt 0)

Great to meet Brett, IanTurner, Topr8, Ian Cather and a very drunken chat on normalisation at the end there with Mark...
What a great day! Still recovering from all that draught pills...
Nice one Brett.

 12:27 pm on Oct 14, 2002 (gmt 0)

Yeah it was quite an amazing experience, I picked up enough tips to keep me busy for months. Thanks for organising it Brett, and many thanks to everyone else for turning up - everyone I spoke to had some useful information.
Oh, and I didn't do too badly out of the sponsors either.

 12:27 pm on Oct 14, 2002 (gmt 0)

great time had by all,

nvision and Rumbas : staying up till 2 with me at the thistle

nffc : nice bit of aquascutum

caine : you owe me twenty quid drop me a sticky about your brother

Andy at Yahoo : "BIG CHEERS"

 12:29 pm on Oct 14, 2002 (gmt 0)

Great gig, Brett. Really interesting to put faces to nicknames. I was encouraged by the openness and friendliness of all, although I should have known this would be the case if you get a bunch of WebmasterWorlders in one room with a free bar! I promise not to lurk as much anymore... ;-)

Good to finally meet everyone, especially Barry. See you all next time.

 1:20 pm on Oct 14, 2002 (gmt 0)

Hmm, what a day!

The idea is completely absurd, of course, dropping all the talks and formalized discussions in order to chat over a beer. But it works. Never have we witness such effective networking and intense learning.

It was good to meet old friends and get to know new ones.

Warm thanks to Brett and all the moderators that worked hard to get the event going! Thanks also to the sponsors.

The London Pubconference 2002 has been great success. We are already looking forward to the next one! The East Coast, was it?

Per and Susanne
