I knew it would be...in time! Same as Infoseek...I think it will be back...soon...

I like the layout - the necessary adverts are 'ignorable' and the 'exlude words' option will be useful for newbies.

I get a blank page at the moment - but I do see it trying to load something through tiscali.fr.
It would be nice to see Excite UK return - but I fear it is a bit late! It will need some decent promotion to get back their users.

Blank page for me too.

Loads fine, albeit a bit slow.

Loads fine for me.
It has a Lycos feel to it.
The adverts aren't intrusive, I quite like it :)
Although it is useless unless it produces traffic.

It will be interssting to see if it brings any traffic at all, also it seems like FAST is in the final round of implementing there websearch at the Infoseek pages (even though this seems to be owned by Tiscali which FAST also powers).

...I just got v.confused when I got a Spanish (I think) version displayed...
...helps if I type in the "www" mind...

does not seem to like providing Serps to the opera browser.
Though on the whole, looks a lot less cumbersome than the previous excite, of latteryears.

just went to excite UK, and i am getting an apache message on a Debian linux box saying their is no page, mmm! maybe a dummy run, can anybody confer ?

Can we realistically expect Excite to still be carrying any traffic? I know that they have a relatively strong name, but they have been 'away' for such a long time. Does the name count for anything?
What is their selling point for this? The SERPs don't look UK filtered to me, so what are they offering that AllTheWeb or Lycos isn't?
I wonder just how much they will be able to deliver. Anyway, good luck to them and let's hope they make a good go of it. :)

Caine.... same result for me.

That's really an interesting move from Tiscali! I suspected something like that when they acquired the brand back in spring
In Italy Excite is a profitable unit!

Not only Excite UK, but Excite through out Europe. Tiscali says:
|Sorry, we can't tell you anything more about this, they said. There's news coming out in the next couple of weeks - you'll have to wait until then. It seems Tiscali doesn't want to say any more in case they spoil their pan-European launch. |
