Links and H1's
Is there any harm or benefit to placing links in h1?

I was curious if there is either any harm or benefit to placing a link in an h1. Does it place more emphasis on the link or anchor text?

deluxcougar if it's a part of a comprehensive design, then it shouldn't be a problem. But if you are doing it to trick the SE's then I would be careful.

You want your pages to be as natural as possible. H1 tags are for headlines. If your design requires the headlines to be linked, then so be it.

The power would go to the anchor text and the page the link is pointing to.
