Waiting to be Found
Been waiting for 4 weeks.

 8:27 pm on Aug 5, 2004 (gmt 0)

I've geen waiting for 4 weeks or a little more for my site to be found. Some minor SEs show the site but mostly by it's title. The four majors don't know I'm alive. The site is located at snipped
Am I being to impatient? Need to be online quickly because of the Back-To-School season being so close.

Can anyone help? Thank you.

You are going to need to get some good inbound links to get your whole site indexed. However, I don't think there is any way to get indexed and ranked well before school starts. I guess you could pay Yahoo, but I don't know how well that works (others here have to know). For Google, you are going to have to wait several months.

If you haven't already done so, submit your site for spidering to Yahoo and Google at a minimum, regardless of what else you choose to do.

Use the Yahoo free submit option on this page [submit.search.yahoo.com] and the Google site submit page is here [google.com].

I had to submit my page 3 times before it got indexed to google.

You probably need inbound links - good ones on pages that are spidered often.

Agreed. I had to get a PR6 link to get spidered properly and its only got 10% of the site so far. I am looking at 80 days to get fully indexed.

Pony up the $300 and get in the Yahoo! directory. Spidering from the majors comes shortly after. Plus, link partners seem to use Yahoo! to find link partners.
