If I search on the phrase ---- Marine Photos

How does a SE know whether I want pictures of The Ocean or pictures of Men in Green uniforms with Guns?

It most likely does not know the difference. That is why it is up to you (the searcher) to refine your search a little more so that relevant results are returned.

by typing ocean marine photos :) or army marine photos :)
