Hi,

An agency I'm fairly chummy with has a client that currently has a fairly basic 5 page html site.

The agency asked me to put forward a proposal as to what to do with his site to get him more traffic to his site. I having read
[webmasterworld.com...]
went to Wordtracker.com and picked him out several key phrases that it would be good for him to say create 10 new pages of content that could be optimised and added to his site to get him more traffic. He has come back and said that he doesn't want to do that because he can't be bothered to produce another 10 pages of text. He says that he can say all he needs to in his 5 page site.

The agency I think is going to rehash his site. Making it look better and more usable.

Under these circumstances what can I offer to do to increase the amount of traffic to his site?

The client is already running himself a Pay per Click campaign.

How about:

Submit the site to the Yahoo directory, Open directory and some other free directories after the look of his site has been rehashed. Perhaps pay for the

Run a link popularity campaign get lots of sites to link to that site to try to improve the PR rating of the site. Put in some quality outbound links to relevant pages.

Pay a copywriter to write several pages with glossary type definitions of key phrases and gradually add these to his site. He has something to do with Printed circuit boards. So some pages explaining manufacturing them in some way maybe.

Resubmit his site for free.

Pay for paid inclusion in the Search engines that he is not listed in.

Hi geoffhodbod,

3 words.

Content is Key

You will have to try to convince the client of this. However, you suggestions cover everything else. As long as you can get the copywritter then everything should be ok.

you may want to look into a Smart Page creation software app. It would create 10 more pages for you based on his already existing content and use the key words that you refered to. This method would give him a higher link popularity rating from the engine spiders. I do not sell this type of software but I do own a copy. If you or anyone else on the forum would like to test it out just email me a url and 10 key word phrases and I will be more than happy to send the pages to you for free. As I make no profit from this if there is too high a response I apolozie ahead of time if I have to turn you down.

My email address is public so please feel free to contact me if you want to talk further about it.

'Can't be bothered'?

And I can't be bothered to go to the petrol station every week to fill up my car with petrol/gas/diesel, but if I want to go anywhere I have to do it...

Companies that refuse to change or move with the times are often the first to get left behind and become bankrupt. This has been proven in a UK survey.
