I am new to this Web services and I am learning a lot and willing to work hard and hopefully reach the position that I can also offer help to others like myself. I have 5 questions and would appreciate help from anybody:-

1) Has anyone had any experience using WebpositionGold to analyze your web pages, improve your search ranking and increase traffic to your site? What can you say about it?Is it worth paying $349 for the WebpositionGold Professional version?

2) Has anyone used IBP Professional to promote website and what is your recommendation? Is it worth $249?

3) Has anyone used Arelis Professional to build link popularity? Recommendation? Is it worth $199?

4) Can anyone recommend a good Keyword or Keyphrase generation software that's cheap?

5} Can anyone recommend a good Web Income Protection software earned from affiliate relationships? Thanks.

Emmanuel

Emanuel, probably not the answer you are looking for, but I would not wholeheartedly recommend any of those tools.

Arelis, WPG can bring you into trouble with Google.
Keyword generators? My impression is none of the really good folks in this business rely on automatic solutions for keywords.
Some people use wordtracker, most people check with the Overture keywordtool, but most important source for keywords are logfiles.

Emmanuel,

Heini has it spot on, I would also NOT recommend any of those tools to be used in todays web climate.

the real tool is knowledge, and that takes time and can NOT be bought (well sometimes, but thats a different story)

Great thread title, meetingpointe. Welcome to WebmasterWorld.

They've told you right, though there are some high-end tools and scripts that some choose to use when they have the experience, the basic rule for those new to seo would the that "If it's guaranteed, it's a lie. If it's automated, it's dangerous."

You need to dig around here at WebmasterWorld, there is no short course.

In todays environment WPG will not help you at all for rankings. It is useful for producing ranking reports, but don't include Google or Yahoo engines, get those positions from AOL which does not seem to mind you hammering it for automated queries. It has been long known Google will ban your IP for automated queries, I got one PC banned from Yahoo (for 24 hours) last month for the same thing.

Waste of time.

>3) Has anyone used Arelis Professional to build link popularity? Recommendation? Is it worth $199?

A few good links will be of more value than tons of "low power" ones. Has to be done by hand.

4) Can anyone recommend a good Keyword or Keyphrase generation software that's cheap?

LOL..your brain is the cheapest and best form of keyword generation. Don't bother looking for software in this area. From experience when you start out don't aim at the primary keywords. Aim at the lesser used keywords and lots (thousands) of them. In my marketplace the primary keyphrase accounts for less than 3% of all SE traffic (and I have #1 site for it), the other 97% comes from all sorts of weird and wonderful expressions! Nevermind the quality feel the width! Not understanding this is the single biggest mistake in SEO!

5} Can anyone recommend a good Web Income Protection software earned from affiliate relationships? Thanks.

I don't do affiliate marketing much, I make a couple of $thousand per month from the dabbling I do, but I don't recommend you concentrate in this area. If there are affiliate programmes that compliment your sites then give them a shot. In my experience you need about 100,000 page views offering up affiliate marketing for every $100 you make.

Good Luck........%%%%

Spend some time over at Wordtracker and Overture's suggestion tools.

Perhaps you could find an seo that would team up with you in order to satisfy promises to customers while you learn the business. I'm afraid that all the advice you have been given here is all too true.
