Yep... it's great. seems faster too. I was one of the first in our local Apple store, one a free 1 gig ipod shuttle too!

So far the only problems I've had were:
- /etc/hosts file was eradicated (should have backed up first); and
- Ctrl+space was gazumped by Spotlight (fixed in Preferences)
Other than that, Apache (with dozens of vhosts), PHP5, ImageMagick, and basically everything I rely on is working perfectly. Terminal's a lot better behaved, and no longer locks up if you paste a lot of text.
Just about to try writing a Widget ;)

Yep, ordered my copies form Apple's Web Site and actually got it on the morning of the 28th. Seems to be running great so far. With the exception of not being about to use Apple Remote Admin till the update came out the following day.
I now have it running on an old 500Mhz iBook and a G5 Dual 2G. No problems at all. I will be doing the rest of my office's installs Monday morning.

I'm being slow this time. I was an early adopter for Jaguar (preordered) and slow with Panther (just upgraded it a few months ago). I'm still getting used to Panther. I'll wait a while for Tiger. Maybe until the end of the year.
However, I am an "early adopter" of Photoshop CS2. Got my copy coming Tuesday! :)

My copy arrived - am watching MacFixit type sites for the next month to view any reported bugs. I usually wait for the first or second update before installing.
What a killer though, this version of OSX holds some usable features like spotlight. I should just take the dive!?
Finally you know what burns me? For the last 2 weeks I have seen these M$ OS commercials, yet Apple never markets their OS? I don't even want to rant about this, but it kills me how much they lack in promoting their product.
Anyhoo here is to Tiger! Can't wait!

We've installed it on an eMac, a lamp iMac, G5 iMac, and on a old clamshell special edition iBook and they are all seeing speed boosts. (The clamshell has a new life now, the perfect Safari/Mail.app computer.)
The one G5 tower (single processor) we've installed on hasn't seen any real change in speed, faster or slower.

Just (finally) did an "upgrade" installation (vs Archive and install vs wiping the drive). Everything seems good so far, except that I had to turn off indexing temporarily. Spotlight wanted to do an initial index of the whole drive, which makes sense, but slowed the system to crawl. I know it will pay off when I do, just waiting for some downtime.
I really like Mail. Already have some smart folders set up. I think Spotlight + Smart Folders is going to be huge. Definitely the biggest feature for me.
Made the mistake of installing all the language packs. Argh.
Safari is ok, but doesn't really excite me that much... at least not enough to switch back from Firefox. I'll continue to play with it though.
All in all, initial impressions are good.

Anyone hear about an issue with Maxtor Firewire drives? Read about it on a blog and can't find *any* info on it other than that.

installed on a G5 - the graphics in Dashboard are so sexy!
installed on a G4 - the graphics in Dashboard are completely absent and I've lost 587 emails out of 18,068 when the conversion failed and the backups seem corrupted.
"Nice" to have a dock which is now so big it doesn't fit any sort of display....
That apart, sweet as a nut. Though since most nuts are savoury, I'm not sure I ever understood that phrase...

Bluetooth Serial Utility has been removed in tiger, essentially disabling my Dial Up Networking Via bluetooth with my HP iPAQ 6315.
This is on my powerbook 1.33 12in.
On my G5 dual processor - the account I installed/ did the upgrade with is corrupted. Meaning on login to the affected account it loads all resources but doesnt load the finder so you cannot control anything except the mouse.
Luckily I installed webmin as a backup ui to root and was able to add another administrator account to save the rest of the server.

Well I upgraded tiger and here are the problems I have had so far.... the upgrade deleted my http config and my transport! The upgrade seemed to completely erase all the customization I had done to my server SO BACK UP! Also now postfix enabler no longer works........... My postfix no longer starts automatically, as it used to... my server is still not back 100% so make sure you back up everything! as for improvements, the widgets are cool but i see no improvement in speed, in fact the upgrade seems to have slowed my computer down...... G5 1.8.......
Best of luck to you.....

Try looking in /Applications/Internet Connect, you should be pleased with the improved and consolidated interface there for bluetooth dial up. (I do the same with my Razr, although I haven't setup Tiger yet for this.)

|safari returns: "Safari canít connect to the server. Safari canít open the page" Constantly now |
Give it 3 or 4 days and this stops happening. I have no clue why initial use of Safari under Tiger will do this, but it does go away. :)

I get the "Safari can't connect to the server" a lot since Tiger. It seems to happen when accessing pages that are not plain HTML, it happens a lot in AdSense when going from different reports.
Everytime I hit the back button and try again the page comes in...

I've had Tiger installed since two days after its release. Safari can't connect problems still linger and what's worse ... Safari quits unexpectedly and often.
Its ticking me off! So far, I am not impressed. My G5 fan sounds like a jumbo jet just before lift off when it is downloading big pages.
Lots of other little issues as well. Am trying to get them sorted out but I would say "hang fire" if you haven't already installed it. There are too many bugs just now. Once operational, I hope I will enjoy Tiger. Right now ... not so much! :(

My friends Imac is running better now that he deinstalled some widgets... safari is still giving tons of errors....
