Try a search on your disk for KeyCaps (without space :) ). Its a free on screen keyboard that will cut you some slack. If not on your disk, it's out there somewhere.

....I solved the problem:) I got a new machine fedexed to me:) an iMac G4 (800Mhz/80G/768MB RAM) with a 17' flat screen 1440X900 res:) SuperDrive too (CD/DVD burner)... pretty outrageous, actually. Pulled it out of the box, stuck the cords in, fired it up, it walked me through a set up, and believe it or not, it actually worked, I got online, came here, and am firing off my first new post:)

going to check out how this osX works and see if I can find some demos....hasta...think I'm 10.2?

Wow! So your a new father? Glad to hear that dogboy! I guess your new baby came with Jaguar built in. If not, you can get it for free.

If you ever run out of spaces again, be sure to flag this thread and copy and paste the above one ;)

> space
... hehehehe yeah, I was cutting and pasting spaces for a few days.... but I thought it was funnier to use the hyphens:) plus I have all these hyphenated urls....so I'm used to hitting that key:)

>Jaguar
I don't know... I don't see that word anywhere, so maybe not... 10.2 is what it says.... but I LIKE it! The only thing I don't like is that you cant minimize the windows....instead they go down to your 'dock' ....don't think I like that.... I usually have lots of windows open and I like it that way.

but tell you the truth, I think this is the easiest mac yet... even if you are on 9.... very intuitive layout.

Macguru- you said "If not, you can get it for free. "

Woah I have an iMAC with OS X on it- I can upgrade to Jaguar for free? Or is it only for people who bought a new computer after jaguar that didn't come with it?

Thanks :)

dogboy,

Jaguar is the codename for mac OS X.2 (10.2).

So you like patting the big cat? But you miss the 'windowshade' function? WindowShade X is the only way I know to restore this function. This 7 $ shareware reduces the window to just its title bar, you can also turn any window transparent (or semi-transparent), allowing you to easily see what's behind it.

celerityfm,

Unfortunatly, it's the later. I had to pay for it.

>Re: WindowShade
sounds great

>Re: Jaguar
...This dog loves cats.... and this cat is PHAT!

I love the big screen the most... really clear. I know most of you have the big monitors, but I have been on a crt 15" for years. and with the hi-res, there seems to be tons of horizantal screen.... you can almost have two browser windows open (to default), side by side.
