Do keywords in navigation bar count?
question re: keyword in nav bar

 10:48 pm on Mar 23, 2003 (gmt 0)

Something on my mind...do keywords in my navigation bar count? I'm asking because when I clicked on my cache pages, the keywords in my nav bar are highlighted. Same with the sites around it. Just curious. I did not think they would count.

If they are part of the page that the spider can see, then yes they count.

Everything visible counts. Keywords in your nav bar can count for a lot, especially if they're links. Not necessarily to that page, but to the pages they link TO. So if Page A links to Page B with the text "widgets galore", then Page B will rank higher when people search for "widgets". Neat huh?

Search Engines think of everything.
