|url advice for a landing page|
want best practice for page not ending in .htm
| 2:20 pm on Mar 21, 2003 (gmt 0)|
we want to run a campaign where we send printed matter which invites people to visit www.abc.com/greatdeals (not greatdeals.htm)
should we set up a redirect to greatdeals.htm?
should we simply create a web page without the .htm file extension?

Create a folder named "greatdeals" and then change greatdeals.htm to index.htm
Of course this index.htm goes in the greatdeals folder.

Actually you can keep the name greatdeals.htm.
Create the folder called greatdeals like suggested above, but set the default page of that folder to greatdeals.htm
The web server will send that page with the URL you want.

index.htm is a common name for a default file, but it really can be any file you set it up to be.
