Server question

 1:23 am on Mar 12, 2003 (gmt 0)

On an Apache server... I'm not exactly sure what you call this, but when you go to a website and type in a webpage that's not there, sometimes you get a listing of every page. What do you call that? You can turn this on and off, right? I'd prefer to get a 404 if the page is not found...

How can I fix this?

I believe you are talking about directory listings. You can turn those off from your .htaccess file :

Options -Indexes

That will give such requests a 403 instead.
