i'm working for an educational services organization. they have a website, let's call it "eduserv123.com" (not its real url). my boss is considering putting up another site at a URL that's a good keyword phrase, let's call it "classroomevaluations.com". she wants to link both sites together. someone told me search engines frown on this type of thing. is that correct? thanks for any info on do's and don'ts of linking sites.

Crosslinking heavily (i.e., a link on each page of both sites) is certainly a No-No. However, there is nothing wrong with one or two reciprocated links between two related sites, especially if these links are useful to the users and there is no duplicate content problem between the two sites.
