| Google PR by industry? Does your PR have anything to do with the industry? |

So here a goes: I have a question about PR. Does the length of time your site has been on the web have anything to do with your PR (ie a site that has been on for 5 years compared to a site that has been on for 4 months). I know a site that has been on longer has more of a chance at obtaining backlinks but what if the sites have the same amount of backwardlinks but one has a higher pagerank? Also, my site is industry specific and all of my competitors have the same PR as my site does, yet I have more backward links. Does this mean, I won't be able to get a higher PR? I've been working really hard at obtaining quality reciprical links and adding rich content to my site. Is this a waste of time if Google gives everyone in my industry the same PR? Thanks in advance --Petra

For example n individual hotel can rarely get above PR5 while a Travel site can get 6 or 7 with little differnce in content or backlinks
