Can you have links under other sheets (Flash page)? If so how?

you can use layer this example users absolute positioning

<body>

<div id="Layer1" style="position:absolute; left:212px; top:87px; width:178px; height:142px; z-index:1">
<a href="/links.html">links</a></div>

<div id="Layer2" style="position:absolute; left:63px; top:21px; width:554px; height:291px; z-index:2;">

<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,29,0" width="459" height="197">

<param name="movie" value="/flash.swf">
<param name="quality" value="high">
<embed src="/flash.swf" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="459" height="197"></embed></object>
</div>
</body>

Sorry thats probably the answer but I'm not good with css, I'm more of a marketing guy really!

Below is an example of some text with flash on top. When I try to make any of the text an active hyper-link it jumps all over the place!

Are you saying I need to lock the flash and the text into place using absolute postioning?

<html>
<head>
<title>Transparent Flash Sample</title>
</head>
<body bgcolor="#FFFFFF" topmargin="0" leftmargin="0">
This is HTML Text layered behind a Flash Movie in HTML
<p>This flash movie was made transparent so you may see the effects
<br>of putting text behind flash. Using Dynamic HTML you can absolutely position
<br>a flash object right over top of your existing html code. Search engines see
<br><b>text</b> while visitors see your <b>dynamic flash movie</b>.
<p><b>To see how this text would ordinarily be hidden,
<br>click anywhere within this frame then hit ctrl+A on your keyboard.</b>
<p>To return to this screen click anywhere in the lower portion of the page.
<span style="position: absolute; left: 0; top: 0; z-index: 2">
<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=5,0,0,0" width=550 height=400>
<param name="_cx" value="14552">
<param name="_cy" value="10583">
<param name="Movie" value="http://www.searchengine-news.com/flash/Movie2.swf">
<param name="Src" value="http://www.searchengine-news.com/flash/Movie2.swf">
<param name="WMode" value="Transparent">
<param name="Play" value="-1">
<param name="Loop" value="-1">

<param name="SAlign" value>
<param name="Menu" value="-1">
<param name="Base" value>
<param name="Scale" value="ShowAll">
<param name="DeviceFont" value="0">
<param name="EmbedMovie" value="-1">

</object>

</object></div>

<div id="Layer1" style="position:absolute; left:55px; top:112px; width:435px; height:268px; z-index:1">

Cheers thats great,

I used absoulute postion to get my text with the link under the flash, but when you went over it with the pointer, it registered the link, but did not change to the pointing hand and you could not click through the link.

Not sure how you have managed to get the active link to work throught the flash, could you make it so it would not work through the flash?

Only answer if you can be bothered as you have solved my problem already just intrested.

Right - I tried my code with the little flash used earlier and the link was active. I replaced the flash with the flash from my site and the code became inactive -

therefore

I gather it is the type of flash thats invovled rather than the coding?
