msg:961242 | 5:25 am on Dec 15, 2003 (gmt 0) | Can anyone advise me on how best to get noticed and stay noticed by Inktomi with my first website? I am doing ok with Google, fortunately. But I have read some things that indicate if you pay to get indexed by Inktomi you vaporize the second you quit paying. If that is the case, how do you get indexed by Inktomi without paying? I am rather confused on this one. Thanks, mountainlady

But, Ink will index your site for free if you wait long enough. And, if you pay to have one page listed, it will continue to index other pages on your site for free (again, if you wait 3 to 6 months, give or take). If you're desperate to get a listing, I'd go ahead and pay for your home page, or the page you'd most like to have indexed. Or if you're going the free route, make sure you have plenty of inbound links. Either way, it will help if your site has a large number of pages, so if one page get dropped, there will still be others indexed.
