ASP.NET Message Board
Any suggestions?

 7:20 pm on Oct 19, 2003 (gmt 0)

My partner & I have taken on a project that must be done on a Windows server running ASP.NET. We need to find a professional message board for this site. I prefer to find a board that allows for a good deal of customization in terms of the look of the board & integrates well into the overall site design. Does anyone have any suggestions?

thanks in advance-

Pamela_S I would strongly suggest you look at ASPPlayground.

I've been using PHPBB for some time now and found it to be a rather good message board. There are a lot of templates to choose from and customizing them to meet your needs isn't too hard either. For lower traffic sites I use Access as the backend database but for more traffic sites you could use SQL Server (I think you could even use MySQL, but don't quote me on it). The best thing to do is to research the different message boards and choose the one that will give you what you need. PHPBB website is... www.phpbb.com

Sorry, you probably realize this already but the Server will need to support php to use PHPBB.

go to www.asp.net and use their open source forum.

You can also look at POPForums. Fully .NET based and a new version is on the horizon.
