Annoying defaults in Dreamweaver v4

I recently bought MM DreamWeaver v4 having used v3 in the past. Today I used the FTP feature to upload a bunch of gifs and reolised that DW was also uploading a bunch of 'mno' files that I didn't select! (I have no idea what an 'mno' file is either).

Can anyone tell me how to stop v4 from doing things like this? (It also automatically creates 'notes' folders? This may be when my graphics were created in Fireworks).

You need to go to the define site part, then the third option is the design notes. Un-check the box and it'll delete all the notes it's created and then in future it'll just upload the images and no associated files (the .mno files).

I've never liked that darn Dreamweaver FTP thing. It's always managed to screw things up for me. Always felt better with a nice ftp program.

Used, Leech and WSFTP which are both still free, I think. Using FTP Voyager now.

I use DW4 and at first i was using the sync allaire ftp option, which is great for keeping an eye on links in the publically viewable portion. However i switched over to WS-FTP, as i find its various versions can be used on a multitude of OS's.

However when you switch over to your FTP software, if you choose too, hunt around the program, and switch off the ftp log enable, as it is quite similar to the mno, it can be useful in big sites, but for smaller ones, just unwanted .txt log files.
