Thats interesting I used to get far more trouble with DW4. DWMX crashes every now and then, but DW4 crashed more on my setup (XP) I couldn't go back to DW4 because the handling of CSS is so much better in DWMX. What sort of instability are you seeing?

I keep DW4 on my system because of the occasional lock-ups in DWMX. It happens (for me) virtually only when editing Behaviours (e.g. layer names) in the Behaviours panel. I try to keep the Behaviours to a minimum and only use those from reputable sources (mostly DW's own and one other source). However, although a resources pig (especially with DW/FW open at the same time) I find DWMX is far more stable than DW4 and I get none of the intensely annoying f12 preview lock-ups that used to be a feature of DW4. I also much prefer the custom layout options of DWMX and am not sure if I could go back to the former layout. NB I never use DW's CSS though - I find a commercial option (not sure if allowed to mention it) which integrates with DW far far better.

DWMX crashes on me when I am editing large or complex table structures. Seems to crash whenever it has to do anything remotly processor intensive.

512 Crucial ECC DDR. Cased in a coolermaster with 6 fans, a monster fan on the CPU, and a dual fan PSU. Does'nt strike me as system based, more software corruption, little quirks, that by themselves are not to bad, but over two diferent locations (PC's) are a nightmare to sync between them and whats live. Will be getting the MX plus, hopefully that will have some of the bugs sorted out. In the meantime for speed, will draw back to DM4.

| Have you checked your extensions to see if you are running any incompatible with MX? You have the 6.1 patch installed? AW
