|Frontpage 2002 problems with shared borders|
| 10:08 pm on Jul 8, 2006 (gmt 0)|
Over the past several months I have been experiencing a bazaar problem: At some point when either adding new material or editing material on my computer, I see a message indicating the the website is being processed (I don't have the exact words, sorry) After that the shared right border displays on the bottom of the page. The weird thing is that the html code for the shared right border is visable at the bottom of the page. If I manually remove this code, the problem corrects itself. At least temporarily.
I have also noticed that on other pages, </td></tr></table></body> magically appears. When I refresh the page with this code, the code for the shared right border appears at the bottom. Then I have to manually delete again.
Does anyone have any ideas? I am tired of the problem. My site has over 1000 pages. I am wasting so much time.

The site is strictly html. You are the first to say you also have
this problem. I have been searching for months to find an answer. I have just manually corrected the pages. I have over 1000 pages.
I am sure there are others.

Right , the cause of this, that i found anyway , lies in
how the actual html pages are formatted .
Shared borders are the only border panels permitted if you're using shared borders
The use off lay out tables on the actual html page must be done either very carefully with regards to the width dimesions, or avoided altogether. the width of the actual page + the shared borders cannot exceed the total width of the page, in page setup
even when the width value of shared border left +right + actual html page is less than the total page width, it still messes up,
which is why I gave up on shared borders for future developments an moved on to Frontpage 2003 where I use web templates, far more useful
I got the web site working, but as I said, I moved on sharpish from fp2002
Your problem might be different, but good luck
