Anyway to do this with out manually modifying code?

I've been working in Dreamweaver MX and my site designs are entirely done with CSS. I'm pretty new to all this so I hope I'm looking over a simple solution to my dilemma.

The problem is when a:link is used to change the link colors, this becomes the default link color for the entire page. This is a problem for me because my nav menu background is black with white links but my body text has a white background white black text, so the links in my body text become invisible. I would like to make the body links the standard hyperlink blue.

I've been accomplishing this by adding new styles manually in the code using the span tag, but there must be a prettier more efficient way to accomplish this.

Here is the code I currently use. Any help is really appreciated.

a:link, a:visited, a:active
{
color: #00f;
text-decoration: none
}

a:hover
{
color: #f90;
text-decoration: underline
}

a:link span, a:visited span, a:active span
{
color: #ff0000;
text-decoration: none
}

a:hover span
{
color: #000000;
text-decoration: underline
}

a:link span span, a:visited span span, a:active span span
{
color: #00ff00;
text-decoration: none
}

a:hover span span
{
color: #000000;
text-decoration: underline
}
