Typing text is extremely slow hourglass constant
Dreamweaver specific problem

Everytime I type a character in a table in dreamweaver the hourglass appears and typing is extremely slow. When I remove all tables from a page and type into an empty page typing is fine. It is as if something is running in the background and using up resources when I type into a table in Dreamweaver. Also I am using an older version 2.0 and I previously had a problem before when I tried to upgrade the software to a newer version.

Any help would be appreciated<

Welcome to WebmasterWorld bkearns

Well, I'm running MX2004, and I have something similar but not identical...
I find my Dreamweaver gets slower and slower, and since I use tables for the positioning on one of my sites (oops, yes, I should use CSS, but it's a legacy site), maybe it's tables causing the problem.

If I quit DW and restart it, which takes just a few seconds, the increase in typing speed is immense. Looking at what's going on when the run-time increases, I can see from the Mac Activity Logs that it's spending longer and longer in System address space, though I've no idea why...

Is yours more speedy when you first run Dreamweaver?

No there is no difference in speed of typing when I restart the program whatsoever. I am sure it is just some minor adjustment to the settings or something like that, but what is it?
