Available through the regular sitemaps feature, this is a new available feature (not sure how new.)

Sounds cool.

Select a markup language:

XHTML mobile profile (WAP 2.0)
Extensible Hypertext Markup Language for mobile devices is a language for building Web pages that can be displayed in a mobile Web browser.

WML (WAP 1.2)
Wireless Markup Language is a format used to create Web pages that can be displayed in a mobile Web browser.

I noticed this a couple of days ago when I logged into their system. I didn't set it up, but I'd like to hear from folks that have to see how it's working for them. Are there any stats available on how many people use these devices each day to visit the Internet?

Ayup. Until recently, I had a crappy phone of the does-not-hold-battery-strength variety. I just got a newer one that can take pictures and even surf the web a little bit. Which is good timing for this launch, I suppose.

The way it works (as of last week) is that if you have a mobile site, you as a webmaster can use Sitemaps to tell Google about it. You can find out more about it at [google.com...]

I'm starting to get excited about what you can do with a phone these days, and that's not just because you can play Bejeweled on phones now--Jensense got me hooked; curse you Jensense! ;). If you have a mobile site, I'd recommend checking out the Sitemaps for mobile stuff.

GG - enjoy your new phone but I recommend you stay away from Phil Kaplan's advice on what to post at his blog ...
