Handheld market continues to decline
Guess I didn't miss much by not optimizing.

The worldwide market for handheld devices experienced its fourth successive quarter of year- over-year decline in the fourth quarter of 2004, according to a report released Wednesday by IDC.

Not necesseraly.

IDC have a very narrow view of what a "handheld device" actually is - and they completly ignore the cellular handset market.

I would say that optimising for handheld cellphone devices is still a very valid market to aim for.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld cellularnews. :)

...and they completly ignore the cellular handset market.

I was not aware of that. Still, I get sooooo little traffic from phones or PDAs that it doesn't seem worthwhile to do so. Then again, I've not seen my site on such devices either, so it may look more horrible than I can image.

Maybe I just might try and find out. Now, who do I know with such a device...

One of the easiest ways to find out how your site looks in a PDA is by using Opera's Small Screen feature.

Just hit Shift+F11 and you'll have it.

Not too bad. A little truncated, but very viewable. Cool.
