This might be wishful thinking... At work we have a computer dedicated to serving MP3s to the staff. Each computer uses either WMP or iTunes to connect to it and play music, or when the boss is out, we play it over the speakers in the office.
Sometimes, I have to go across the hall or downstairs to the network operating system. I'm tired of listening to the whir of the A/C and the computers when I'm in there. Is there a way I can grab music off of the Mp3 server while walking around? I have an ipaq 4155, and it seems like the perfect candidate. I cna't find anything on it like a network neighborhood that would allow me to grab files off the network. Also, I can't open anything on the network from inside it's WMP. Anyone have any ideas on how I can do this? I would love to listen to music on the fly instead of having to drop it on my SDIO card.
Also, is there such a thing as a mobile iTunes for a handheld PC that might fit the bill?
Never mind... Got it. Thanks for the tip... and mine does just play it over the net. There is no lag time from opening a song to it playing. It's almost exactly what I wanted. Now if I could figure out how to enter songs from the network into WMP's playlist I'd be set!
