Text spammer bites the dust creative craig msg:932614 5:23 pm on Mar 18, 2003 (gmt 0) One of these guys tried it on with me, had a text message telling me to call them as they could bring my mobile phone bill down, didnt do anything about it then had the same text the next day.
Week later in the newspaper an article about how people were fooled into calling a number that played an engaged tone down the phone to them.. the cost £5 a minute ($7-8)! Lucky I didnt call them :o
At least some justice has been served.

In other news - what's up with the massive Bcentral ad on that page? Whew, that's a smidge over the top. gethan msg:932616 1:39 am on Mar 24, 2003 (gmt 0)
Have to agree on the ads on the register - the register is one of the most widely read IT news sites in the UK (possibly US) - they always seem to be looking for ways to make money - launching isps, book stores, job sites etc - all affiliate type deals. All overblown.
