Since announcing the split last year, PalmSource CEO David Nagel has forged ahead with a completely new handheld operating system (OS 5.x), new places to grow (China) and new product opportunities (Fossil's Wrist PDA, Garmin's iQue 3600 GPS-enabled handheld).

That wrist PDA sounds intriguing - shades of Dick Tracy are running through my thoughts.

Good move on their behalf especially since Palm OS can be the based OS for many devices. If it were to be split up it could allow for them to handle it better and give the image that they make the OS rather than this OS powers PalmPilots.

I agree. I have Visor which uses the PALM OS and I believe their are other devices/PDAs which do as well. It should prevent the conflict-of-interest symptoms which crop up now and again of PALM selling it's OS to it's competitors.
