Though I have spent many years as a UNIX sysadmin, that was a long time ago, and I have heard a lot of horror stories about installing Linux on laptops. I really do not have the patience to go searching for missing drivers all over the net, so I am considering paying the (substantial) premium to get a box with Linux pre-installed from Emperor Penguin.
Does anyone here have any experience, good or bad, with them?
You don't need to search for missing drivers "all over the net". Most distributions have them already available. Check linux-laptop.net for *lots* of information. And read Laptop to run Linux on [webmasterworld.com] on this same forum.
