First Lindows, and now this [newsforge.com].

MandrakeSoft CEO Jacques Le Marois confirms the news this morning, and company spokeswoman Margaret Waples says, while a contract with Microtel has not been finalized, the company is working on getting Mandrake certified to run like clockwork on the Microtel systems. Waters is hopeful that the dotted line will be signed and PCs up for sale by the end of next week.

Check out the prices on those boxes - they start at $299. At those prices, the old Microsoft tax is very significant.

I smell revolution in the air my friends!

If regular people start using Linux does that mean I'm not a nerd anymore?

Whoa, the demand was so high they had to shut their server down! But, seriously, anyone lining up to buy one?

[news.zdnet.co.uk...]

This is sort of an interesting read in light of the sub $300 XP box.
