msg:223910 | 10:03 pm on May 20, 2003 (gmt 0) | Is there anyone else out there who does really well on ATW, but is being killed by the latest Google update-thingy? All our sites are in the top 5 on ATW but we see very few visitors, I s'pose 'coz no one uses it much. How can we make it a more popular SE and get some benefit from those lovely listings? Any ideas, anyone...? I use ATW to search 'coz it's better at pulling out the stuff I'm looking for than Google and knowing how good G is at losing stuff, I trust ATW a lot more. I s'pose there are an awful lot of people who don't even know it exists. I've got their search box on some of my pages but I don't think that's going to make a massive difference... :-)

We've been hanging around waiting for them to go for it, as the simple truth is that they have the ability to do it. Now that overture owns them, the future for FAST is wide open or closed shut, overture have hinted at things, though nothing is known for certain, except in the need-too-know circle's, such as overture's board of directors.

Perhaps not, but if 5,000 websites all actively promote ATW? Or 10, 000 - 100,000 sites? Over time it will make a difference. ATW is a highly worthy engine and it is a shame it does not get more attention. Choose a search engine, put up a link or a searchbox and tell your visitors why you like it. Recommend they try it. We all complain about having too many eggs in one basket. Sometimes you have to build another basket. ;)
