Hi humpingdan, on www.alltheweb.com , simply. You may use the link:domain.tld like on Google or use the advanced search feature where you have some control on what is reported or not by combining multiple criteria. Dan <edit>reason=typo</edit> [edited by: hetzeld at 3:24 pm (utc) on May 14, 2003]

Go to AllTheWeb and use the same syntax as you would with Google: link:(url) AllTheWeb seems to have the most updated look at the web in terms of links to your site(s)

Hi, Another way to search on alltheweb is by typing only the domain name. You'll then have options to list pages, links, domain info, etc... Dan

Thanks, that alltheweb tool works well. When I get "all the external sites" that link to a site, are they in any particular order or importance, or are they just random?

Yeah, that AlltheWeb URL investigator [webmasterworld.com] is pretty nifty eh? I've used it a lot lately to do a general check of a site etc. >are they in any particular order That's actually a good question treeline. I bet there's some sort of algo in the works there. What's your take?

wow - I never even looked at alltheweb before - but we're huge in there - no. 1 for all of our keywords (and a few I only just thought of!). Do they have their own bots? Never even noticed them come in and index, although they seem to have the entirety of our site. TJ

>I never even looked at alltheweb before Tsk tsk, no comment. >do they have their own bot? I do believe so! Sorry TJ, I couldn't resist :) Yes FAST have their own bot out crawling the net as we speak. I'm not that surprised actually that you never heard of them as their showcase ATW is not being pushed very hard. However if you look at you logs you should notice a sprinkle of traffic from Lycos. FAST powers search at Lycos and a lot of other portals [webmasterworld.com]. Their bot is called FAST Web Crawler [fastsearch.com] They also have a really cool Search Spy [webmasterworld.com] They were recently bought by Overture [webmasterworld.com], so who knows where it all will end? Anyway welcome to the FAST Forum, hope you'll stick around ;)

Thank you Rumbas, pleasure to be here! | Anyway welcome to the FAST Forum, hope you'll stick around ;) |
| Like I'm so rude I'd make one post and then not stick around?! lol Am I right in thinking that fast get their directory data from zeal? In which case, that would explain our listing. But I was very (pleasantly) surprised at being no. 1 for every possible search involving our keywords. Also, the sheer depth that our site has been crawled by them is very impressive. Go AllTheWeb!
