| Alltheweb Dash problems Does anyone know much about it |

msg:221397 | 12:51 pm on May 14, 2003 (gmt 0) | Dear PPl, i have been noticing for a while that algorithms of alltheweb and altavista are a bit stuffed. FOr example on purpose i registered keyword--keyword.com and it has over 20,000 links to alltheweb and 500 to altavista. These arnt of course real links just a problem with the algorithm. So you know if you do a link popularity for keyword--keyword.com and keyword-keyword.com , they have if not the same popularity for alltheweb and altavista. Im not sure whether this would give more relevancy in terms of a web site, but its very strange. Anyone know about? msg:221399 | 1:46 pm on May 14, 2003 (gmt 0) | Dear Heini, yep you are probably right, but guess what, certain domains do get treated differently even with just one dash, example com-keyword.com , certain combinations give tremendous results in altavista and alltheweb, so the problem extends even more then double hyphen.
