| Odd url.all search results Inconsistent database or bad syntax? |

msg:224765 | 10:50 pm on Feb 26, 2003 (gmt 0) | Peculiar search result on Alltheweb: This search: url.all:www.example.url.edu finds 3,723 pages and this search: url.all:www.example.url.edu/cgi-bin/hfs.cgi/00/ finds 4,859 pages. But the second should be a sub-set of the first. Do I misunderstand the syntax?

Would be interesting to see if url.all:www.example.url.edu/cgi-bin/hfs.cgi/00/ finds pages which are not from www.example.url.edu/ In other words, identifying which pages are not found in the seemingly more general search should bring the answer.

I can search within those 4,859 pages for the company name--which is found on each of them and is unlikely to be found on any cgi-bin/hfs.cgi/00/ page from another domain. The result is the same 4,859 pages. The only other explanation would be some pages appearing twice.
