Starting with ATW's Alchemist this summer Fast gave users, well: geeks ;), the opportunity to fully customize the look and feel of ATW's interface.

Skins created with this tool are showcased, and can be chosen from, the ATW Gallery [alltheweb.com] starting tomorrow.

Says [fast.no] CSS guru Hakon Wium Lie of Opera fame: “Similar to the Opera browser, the new enhancements to AlltheWeb enable better support for Web standards. By being the first major search engine to comply with these standards, FAST is clearly positioning itself well for the future.”

Watch out for a Halloween special at ATW tomorrow!

If you were not fully awake when you peeked at atw this morning, like me I though I must have hit the wrong button!

Great news!

About time someone did it but, I don' see the other SE's following for some time to come. FAST is not a popular engine among the masses. Google could not do any better than validating what they have as they have to cater for much older browsers.

Still, a definate step in the right direction ;)

That is nice in deed and a nice move from FAST. Shows they have humor up there in Norway.

I wonder why Google haven't made anything out of Halloween yet though?

They have you only need to live in the US to view it ;)

And IMO the new design is bad!
I am sure they haven't consulted Jakob.

It`s so cold here in the winter that we have to have some humor in order to survive, Rumbas. ;)

FAST
- One word = hiddeous. Thank God it's only one day a year.

GOOGLE
- No change in the logo in the UK. (They do have a javascript error though ;)).

Chris, go to the skins gallery and pick a new one:
[alltheweb.com...]

Well, I like the halloween skin.
We're not used to halloween stuff so seeing a scary design once in while is nice.
Anyway, I really like the idea of the ability to costumize the look and feel of your favorite search engine, and all the skins and options are just options - you don't have to use them, you know ;)

>cold in Norway
I know Tor. Went skiing up there in Hemsedal a few years ago. Freezing. Absolutely freezing!
