Not if the music is not copyrighted by the author. You can make a song and put it online for everybody to download and listen to. As long as you made it. It IS illegal to copy copyrighted material - wether it be mp3's, text, images etc. Sure Fast should not link to illegal material - prolly why you don't find much popular music there ;)

Any original work is automatically copyrighted, but as you imply an author may choose to distribute his copyrighted work for free. | It IS illegal to copy copyrighted material |

It's not always illegal to copy copyrighted material; that's the basis of the current, and probably never-ending, "fair use" debate.
