Target Destination pages vs. meta refresh
Is a revisit the same as a refresh?

 9:35 pm on Aug 13, 2002 (gmt 0)

I just viewed this on the Lycos website.

"FAST's spiders do not automatically follow HTML "meta refresh" tags. If your pages use these tags, enter the target destination pages instead. "

Can someone describe how I enter the target destination page. I currently have this tag on my page <meta name="revisit-after" content="14 days">Is a revisit the same as a refresh?

Those are different things Janine.
What Lyocs says is thou shalt not use meta refresh to redirect visitors automatically from one url to another.

So - if you give the Fast spider a url www.example.com/index.html which redirects the user automatically to www.yourdynamicsite/hereswhatyourelookingfor.html
then the Fast spider will not follow this redirect.

Nothing to do with the revisit-after, which I'm afraid the Fast spider does not follow either.
