Big Cudos to the guys in the tech trenches at Fast, for the most impressive Advanced Search page ever put on a search engine. I got some time today to play around with it and I was very impressed with the new features. [alltheweb.com...] IP-address Filters No one has ever done that before. The best part is buried in the FTP section. [alltheweb.com...] A regular expression search! Can we expect to see the regex search on the main search engine advanced page soon?

Brett, I mentioned the IP search several times here, nobody seems to be interested. I think it's a fantastic and totally unique feature. The ftp search has been a FAST specialty from the beginning. It's still unmatched on the web.
It has been in action at Lycos.com. I've heard some real geeks claiming though it's not as good anymore as it was, bringing up outdated results.
So, geeks - what's the verdict?

Everytime I go to the advanced search page these days there seems to be something new. Document Byte Size Restriction. Was that there before?

and now in the drop down you can filter by "in the host name" - i'm sure that wasn't there before.
