Lycos UK has updated and has included about half off the pages that I expected. I'm not complaining though, it's updated and hopefully it will start updating reguarly again.

Heini
Do you think inktomi is a big partner or?

Do you think they will show non paid results?

Lycos.co.uk = Ink
Lycos.de = Ink
T-online.de = fast = not updated

Any evidence like press releases about Lycos switching to Ink ?

It definately looks like lycos.co.uk is now powered by inktomi. Another one that we have now got to pay for.

Probably a temporary thing - if Fast are having a few hiccups they're hopefully just falling back on their Hotbot/Ink connection for a while.

Yeah, back here and updated at Lycos.com and .co.uk. Maybe Lyos were just using stinks as they are the back up for epotting.

Hmm. The inktomi-stuff was new since my site is only included for about 1.5 months. If that is the new inktomi-ranking im glad :)

The new fast results seem to be _very_ differnt for me (as i dropped from #9 to #101 with more links and more pages spidered)

What about hotbot if lycos should use inktomi?

New pages that were included in the last deep spidering arent included in the new index :(

Hehe
that was a nice little shocker, eh?

>back up for espotting
Probably. Was a Lycos phenomenom only. So we all could see how we rank on espotting... Was surprised to see some top rankings there, one for a little forum message without title or kw in url... pages that were never submitted to ink of course.

<added>Perhaps Im asking to much with everbody at Fast doing overtime, but would be a good thing to have some of our Fast members give a short rundown on whats happening over there?</added>

ME TO, I am starting to get a little disturb now, you don't go out to webmaster and say that you will have a new index up within a week and then don't do it, i have learned that most Webmasters arn't very patient. So i would really like to see a new index soon. I would also suggest that FAST removed the part of them updating their index every 9-12 days, many people read that and they ask questions all the time why the index haven't been updated.

Well, Im pretty sure the folks at Fast are doing overtime right now. Actually I think their interest to come out with a brandnew gigantic db is nearly as big as yours, lazer.
In other words: they would if only they could.

I understand them, but i am waiting so much for it !!!! i wont get paid until they update their db !!!
So it's all up to FAST now if i am going to give santa something :)

It has always been a very risky strategy to base your entire business on one search engine. I would personally not let my paycheck depend on FAST updating their index.

Every search engine team I know of work hard to keep the index as fresh and good as possible. Whether you get desturbed or not won't change a thing, lazerzubb.
