|Lycos and Fast weighting|

I've stopped submitting to Lycos, as i thought that with Fast's regular crawls, would keep lycos happy, and the site's pages ranked high (i worry when pages slip below #3).
However the pages have slipped, dramatically from Fast's last update, though have been constantly slipping, since i stopped submitting to lycos.
Hence, i am thinking of starting to resubmit to Lycos, and see what effect that has, on the lycos listings, as i know that it will not have a counter - effect on my listings with Fast.
Anyone know of any problems with this idea ?

Isn't submitting to lycos the same as submitting to Fast now!!

Caine i´ve been asking myself this question quite a few times. Why is there a submit option on Lycos sites anyway? There have been some discussions here on WMW but to no avail as I remember.
Will be interested in any results and further insights!

I submit to both at the same time. Lycos will come for the pages submitted right away - going no further, just those pages. I don't know if it does any good, I just do it routinely. No problems resulting, so I'll continue.

I think i am going to test it, and submit to lycos, i know as you say Marcia, that the crawlers go for the pages immediately, but it would be nice to see if their is any major discrepencies between Fast and lycos #1 and #2 listings, after lycos DH and partner listings.
Will report back

Has anyone noticed a submission to Lycos seems to trigger a visit from Inktomi? Or am I seeing a coincidence due to other submissions?

I can't say i have noticed this Brett, but i am going to re-sub to Lycos, so i will watch for ink crawls.
