Well, I just hope they will not follow the infoseek example too long. Fast is for me becoming (mainly through lycos) a very good traffic generator and I hope it will stay free and efficient:-)

Hi Ove,

Fast is stable then very unstable, the reason I think, is this growth of their indexing compared to their growth of hardware to store it. I've experienced it many times with fast. You will note that Google which is my favorite is more stable, because they keep expanding their server farms.

Quick way back to the top is some content changes in your top pages and resubmit them. Usually works if they were good enough to get their, before. This is a possible reason and answer - maybe some of the seniors members, moderators and admin chaps on the forum have better ideas.

Yes, an update, and substantial changes in rankings for the categories I follow. Some pages that I tried to optimize recently simply by following the winning patterns went south, together with the competitors... I am sure some of the "faster" colleagues here have already found out more about the algo changes?

Yep, we got some new pages in... We'll see if we start seeing any Lycos referrals anytime soon!

I think you miss understand something...Fast is like the original Infoseek. I can submit a site on Monday and by Friday my site is in and placed. They spider almost everyday, and update within a week.

FAST results a bit unstable at the moment - could be in the middle of an update......
