At least they warned you and worded it nice enough to confuse a few people who can understand "unique user-based exit interstitial" I do my own tracking so good luck to you guys, if you havent done your own log analysis in the past nows a good time to step off the boat and learn something new :)

I left hitbox a long time ago under the theory that "there ain't no such thing as a free lunch", combined with my own timing tests which led me to conclude they were adding between one and 30 seconds to page load time over DSL! That plus Javascript (which I wanted to avoid on my pages) caused me to look for and find better ad and user tracking. I've found my server logs combined with a good log analysis program work great for most things, and a routine to track ad clicks works for the rest. Richard Lowe

You might want to try TheCounter.com, they have some good statistics there and (when I signed up) it was $15.95 for the year.

Update for Everyone - I contacted Hitbox and here is their reply- <snip></snip> I get the feeling that they will be going from category to category running these pop-ups. If you want to stay with Hitbox then I suggest changing your category to "Other" with all your sites as I will soon be doing (be sure to update your code on your sites). I will likely try out some other stat counters on future sites as well. Larry Wentz [edited by: Brett_Tabke at 11:52 pm (utc) on Aug. 29, 2002] [edit reason] tos #9 [/edit]

I left HB months ago for most of the reasons already given. If I WAS still using their service, this would be the final motivator to look elsewhere.
