Analysing the log files of a web site with Web Trends I noticed that the second site in the Top referring sites is "no referrer", it means it can't detrmine the url of the site right? It would be not a problem if it ranks at 1000 position but on the second!!! Is there a way to view these user sessions or not? Please let me know.

thanks

wolfy

Wolfy it is the same on mine as well.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but it was my understanding that this was caused as a result of the user coming to your site by typing in the URL and not clicking a link.....I could be wrong

We have been discussing referals with no referer string in [webmasterworld.com...] .

The most common cause is as agerhart has said by someone typing the URL directly into the browser.

>Is there a way to view these user sessions or not?

I have not used Webtrends, so I am unfamiliar with how it defines and tracks a "user session". However most log stats packages use the IP address so you should be able track these sessions just like any others.

Can any Webtrends experts confirm this ?
