...any spiders from Chicago?

Our site caters to travellers from Europe and we shouldn't have many US visitors. For obvious reasons US is the second largest country in our stats.
California comes in as #1, likely because Google, Inktomi and Altavista are based there. Then comes Virginia where AOL is based.
But we also get lots of hits from Illinois and I cannot find any Internet entity based in that state. Any ideas?

I’m in Illinois. There aren’t any spiders that I know of, but Boeing, Sears, McDonalds, Motorola, etc. all have their main headquarters in Chicago and the Mercantile Exchange is there. Remember Chicago is ‘Hog Butcher To The World’. So they got that going for them.
Then Caterpillar, ADM, and John Deere are headquartered downstate, plus University Of Illinois, which has a big super computer. And of course there is also a particle accelerator that is run by Argo, I think, and the US Government. No doubt some I have missed.
People downstate take a lot of trips because there is nothing but corn and soybean fields there. I know this for fact for I am downstate.

LOL, it MUST be the particle accelerator then! ;) Actually, who knows, maybe the university is up so something. It has happened at universities before as we all know, notably at Stanford. Thanks jim_w.
Any other ideas?

Yea, that is what I was thinking. Another Ph.D. is getting ready to go out the door and start a YASE, (Yet Another Search Engine)

That's great - if I was Chicago-based I'd have that on my business card.
