Custom Online Movie / Slideshow

Interested in making a slideshow movie on my fire department's web site that will include a song playing. I have seen several of these online in the form of a slideshow opening up in Windows Media Viewer.

The ones I have seen almost appeared to be power point presentations (after viewing the page transitions) I checked in power point and noticed no export feature allowing to save as a .WMV

Any ideas on where I can begin with such a venture?

I'm a newbie here, so likely some of the veterans have solutions that have worked for them. There are a bunch of Powerpoint to HTML converters, but only a few good ways to incorporate music or synchronized narration.

It sounds like you're describing a file output from Microsoft Producer--which only outputs a Windows Media format file that has to be served from a Windows Media Server. Personally, I wouldn't want the slide program in WMV or other video format, I'd use Flash as much more available to all users and browsers. Obviously, the full blown Macromedia Flash would do what you want, but there are great programs that work with Powerpoint to produce an end file that's a SWF Flash file that can easily be incorporated into your Web page. I would recommend Techsmith's Camtasia since it works with Powerpoint or can import image or video files and turn it all into Flash output. Good luck.
