My idea would be to use a <div> with a photo set as a background and put a transparent gif (u can only see the numbers and months) into the div.

Go to one of the sites that use the sort of thing you're interested in, and email the site contact to inquire about where they got the "your calendar!" or whatever, tool/software. If that doesn't work for whatever reason, go to one of the sites and in View on the menu bar, click Source. Sometimes the sort of script/applet/software you're looking for will be listed with a website and/or contact email right inside the page source. Another option: check out the script sites on the web - lots of things like this out there....
