Difference between "site:domain.com" and "domain.com"
Why do site:domain.com searches find more results?

When I do a site:domain.com search in Yahoo, I get a certain number of results. Next, if I search for domain.com (without the site: part), I get a much smaller number (e.g. 5,000,000 pages for site:domain.com and 3,000,000 for domain.com). I've tried this with various sites, and I see it happening all the time.
Anyone know why? If anything, I'd think it would be the other way around?
