Stolen Title & Meta
How Will This Affect Yahoo Ranking?

I just found that one other site has stolen my home page title & meta and also found that many other sites have listed my page title & meta as part of their page content.

Hoe does this affect my ranking in Yahoo?

No I would not say that, ok google has a pretty wired dublicated filter, but I even think you will pass that with no troubles.

Thanks Zeus. It is good to know that this duplication wouldn't affect my site :)

FYI, my site was on page 1 in Yahoo for a very competitive term but with this recent update it went to page 2. When I saw this change in ranking I thought it was due to my site title and meta being duplicated by others.

It probably is to those scraper sites stealing your title and meta that have bumped you down in Yahoo's SERPS.

Thanks Stu2. What are scarper sites?

Also, is it better to change the title and META to a fresh one?

Changing title and description can affect your website ranking negatively also.

Because the title had bought you to this position.

You can changing the title by not removing any keyword, just change there position. But before doing any change study the website which are above you.

Thanks Pathak. I really appreciate the feedback I am getting 

Three sites above me are spam and use JavaScript redirects to go to the main site. The recent Yahoo update is full of such cases. Maybe I should report these sites to yahoo. Anyone know how?

Anyways, I will not do any changes as I have also thought o idea of having a negative effect. If I change it, my site will be on the scarper sites again and again... I will wait for the update to cool down and give it another round. Page 2 on yahoo = zero traffic.

The scraping happened to me too. The way I reported it to Yahoo! was to look up my site by way of the keyword in the search engine. Then at the top to the right there is a small "Help" button. Click on that and you will see a link for Spam and Deletions that you can use to report it. They take a long time to respond so do it ASAP.

I have started contacting every scraper site owner and getting my site removed :)

Some aren't replying to my e-mails. I just report them to Yahoo as machine generated sites.

Same thing happened to me. Scrapers after this update have gotten the upperhand. I got into an arguement with another SEO about it and then I proved some very valid points to him about how Yahoo hides all it's clickable links with 302's and the green link Yahoo reports does not always represent what I found to be the site URL that actually linked to me. Wish I could provide you link examples. I found redirected sites, cloaked sites, scraper directories stealing titles and descriptions ...Can you say dupe content filter? Can you say bad update very bad update?
