I'm seeing interesting changes on many serps I follow. Anybody else seeing changes?

Note to Yahoo: keyword-in-domain followed by keyword-in-url is not absolutely the best quality signal on the block, you know.
[Edited] - Missed one (must've been the source code that did it) - fistfulls of keyword links on a page with no body text - that is a qualifier, but not in the direction you're heading. This is most definitely a whine, but by heaven, you really can paint a turd on Y! just now.

yeah, update under way. Slowly rolling out.
8:38 am on Jul 20, 2005 (gmt 0)
My site just dropped from over 3000 pages listed to 8!
I am nowhere to be found for any of my keywords that have done me proud for a long time.
Hopefully this is just part of the update and everything will come back when it's over.
Otherwise, for me, this update will be known as....
8:47 am on Jul 20, 2005 (gmt 0)
BTW I am now seeing around 200 'pages' listed. It is useless. Yahoo is listing my css files and a load of other pages that should never have been spidered!
Thanks very much Yahoo and your disobedient robots.
If I say 'Disallow' you should leave the damn pages alone, not pick them up and index them whilst at the same time removing all the pages that really were useful.
I have never had reason to complain about any update but so far I am thinking that Y may be going down the MSN route and screwing everything up.
Oh Well - It's their website and they can screw it up if they want!
8:49 am on Jul 20, 2005 (gmt 0)
Yep, Yahoo is moving.
But it always seems to be - perhaps a bit more though today.
Ska_demon - Yahoo does seem to completely lose pages for sites for some reason only for them to come back at the next update. Something Tim might want to look into? - Cant think it is delibrate as the sites do come back.

I just saw one of my dynamic sites go from 2000 pages indexed to 4.
My smaller static sites seem to be doing quite a bit better. Prolly to soon to draw any conclusions...
8:58 am on Jul 20, 2005 (gmt 0)
Looks like an upate to me, for sure. Does anyone else think it looks like Y! is doing something new with links?
9:31 am on Jul 20, 2005 (gmt 0)
They haven't finished yet. There are definitely some spam-related manual filters that are missing.
9:33 am on Jul 20, 2005 (gmt 0)
One of my site is really doing well and is on #1 position for all keywords and for my main keyword is on #2.
Till yesterday only home page indexed in yahoo but today all the pages of my site got indexed and doing superb in SERPs.
9:41 am on Jul 20, 2005 (gmt 0)
There are a lot of spammy keywordy sites being listed highly, hopefully these will go away.
10:04 am on Jul 20, 2005 (gmt 0)
There is deinitely something more happening than the usual daily moves.
For example, one site went from nowhere to 53 for a very competitive term. However, another has dropped from 41st to 712th!
10:37 am on Jul 20, 2005 (gmt 0)
Yahooo! after being out of Yahoo index for almost 4 months, Yahoo now is my 2nd top referrer, (MSN being first) with only 41 index pages out of 1200 pages.

I've been adding fresh quality content daily to my site for months... Yahoo loved it and many pages were listed in the top 3 for several keywords.
Yesterday more than 500 pages were indexed. Today only two - the index page and the rss feed for the blog.
Last week I signed up with several affiliating programmes, and I started adding some links to them in my daily articles (already had Adsense for a while). I also added Sitemap.xml (mainly for Google)
I just donít understand why my site got dropped?! Could it be the affiliating links? Or the xml map?

I think there`s some radical change in the Algo.
12:32 pm on Jul 20, 2005 (gmt 0)
Again, the Y! directory seems to have an almost negative affect.
Looking at some top ten listings across assorted searches (albeit all in travel), not many have a directory listing at all - those that do rarely make the top three.
If, however, you suffer the misfortune of having been in the Y! directory for years, but without a keyword-stuffed title, then boy does the 'who-mentioned-ink-like-keywords' algo take a dump on you.
An expired AdWords voucher goes to the first person able to spot a single 'signal of quality' at play.
12:48 pm on Jul 20, 2005 (gmt 0)
haha! I've been on 10-17 pages indexed for over six months.
Just gone to 6,360 and I am rather happy, especially after 4 months of Google treating us so badly.
I hope my site has turned the corner now...

I would say not. I am experiencing exactly the same thing you are describing. I would say it is either part of the update process and your pages will return or there is major changes in the Y algo. It's that or Yahoo have stuffed up big time ;oP
I'm going to plump for Yahoo screwing up. MSN Just did it & Google made a lot of peoples fireworks very wet.

my website domain name is very popular in our country,
before i started the website , there is no kewyord match for the domain name in google and yahoo.
to-day if i search my domain name kewyord
yahoo.co.in results shows 2,520 and yahoo.com search results shows 12,600
Note : the kewyord displays only my domain name and none others.
why this huge difference , can't understand
anyone knows the reason?

just noticed traffic stats too.
average Jan-July '05
today so far
we have dropped slightly for some key terms but the increase in indexed pages is showing through in overall traffic.
1:13 pm on Jul 20, 2005 (gmt 0)
3000 pages indexed to 190. I really hope this is a fluke.
1:26 pm on Jul 20, 2005 (gmt 0)
a major change afoot i think.
my main site went from 10 to 4 on my main keyword.

Jah, seeing some changes in the index. Went from out of the top 100 to #17 for a mildy-competitive term. Let's see how this pans out...
1:54 pm on Jul 20, 2005 (gmt 0)
I do hope this is not the end. So much spam has crept back in.

any sign of an update for the german de.yahoo.com? - not for me yet...

any sign of an update for the german de.yahoo.com? - not for me yet...
I don't see anything on my local yahoo to write home about yet. I would think there will be a reshuffle across the .com which will filter down to the more localised engines over time.
2:17 pm on Jul 20, 2005 (gmt 0)
Also seeing multiple (same site) listings pretty regularly. Not indents, but double listings.
2:19 pm on Jul 20, 2005 (gmt 0)
Great update! :)
Got some old spam out, put some new in, but in general - I love it.
The number of returned results for my main keyword are 10Mill. less than yesterday...Good.
Thumbs up for Yahoo this time.

After nearly 6 months of just the home page indexed on one of my most recent sites, today Yahoo displays 242! This is great!
