All of my sites dropped a little bit, but the results ahead of me are relevant, so no complaints. Also see a cloaker has disappeared. Good for Y!
noticed this 2 days ago. Strange it took so long to appear here.
I am higher up in the serps BUT one of my sites had 200 pages indexed - now it is only showing 28 ;o(
Just confirmed this on the Yahoo Search Blog.
Thanks for the feedback,
I lost 90% of indexed pages across multiple sites. Hope it's not the end.
Not too bad, but for some reason two old sites of mine from 4 years ago still don't show in Yahoo.. maybe I should send an e-mail to the Yahoo! team... :)
Well, I was number one with my index page and number three for a subpage(each particular type of main product) and a main competitor was two and four. Now, I am number one for my index in all my main phrases and my subpages are gone and my competitor is completely gone. The competitor was very iffy with their site. Looks like they hit some kind of penalty.
All in all, I am very happy. I have climbed to number one in msn too. Google still hates me. Sandboxed.
|blog:you should be seeing more of your pages in the index |
Most people here with a gripe, including myself, have seen a very significant decrease in the number of pages listed. I have seen one site of mine drop from something like 400 pages a few days ago to 7 pages today!
May be it will all pan out over the next while?
I'm with texasville, this update has treated me very well.
seems very glitchy to me.... some SERPs I check don't even return any results... I just get a little "opps" error message and the sposorered results show but no matching results.
the yahoo search blog did indicate that they're not done and that the changes will continue over the next week or 2.
Well the search is still updating the 'oops' error is showing. There's no way the results we saw this morning can stay, too much spam was in.
Yahoo is broken for me here in North Carolina, half the searches I do for common 2 word keywords comes back with an
We ran into a temporary problem while performing your search. Please try your search again."
I just love the Oops!
My SERPS jumped to #1 and #2 for my primary targeted terms. At first I thought is was a tweek in the on page factors that I did a couple of days ago, but now I'm not so sure it had anything to do with it since everything else seems to have shifted.
I keep getting the Oops message.
They're showing a lot more of my pages, but I still seem to be penalized for some unknown reason. I'm hoping the reference to "and changes will continue over the next week or two." is an accurate one.
Y added 700+ pages to one site last night. None of them are showing as cached.
I'm seeing the oops message frequently too.
The new update in progress looks good to me
I'm getting a lot of Oops! messages still.
My site appears in the index 600+ pages, but ranks for nothing - not even the website's own name. This has been a problem since the June update. I guess I'll just keep waiting.
It's encouraging that their annoucing the update and that they're happening once a month. See you in August, Yahoo!
Got the Oops message several times today.
I see changes, but they are not particularly good or bad.
Yahoo still includes AdSense sites on its first page of results. They've got a long way to go before users will start taking them seriously.
Same here with the "Oops" thing.
I'm dropping like a ROCK on Yahoo, 1st on the 1st page for a load of phrases to now on the 2nd page and falling, and again replaced with BS like spam, blackhat sites and totally non-relevant content. It's Google all over again rewarding TOS-violating sites and penalizing guideline-abiding and relevant sites! Hopefully when this "Oops" goes away, so will the crappy SERP's!
Seeing nothing but "oops" here in the last ten queries.
I'm not showing 'oops' anymore at my location, but the SERP's are still trash.
Sites well optimized, but lacking quality are definitely having a good go of it. I'm happy, but then I use google to search, so...
Difficult to get any kind of an idea on the point of this update. What is it they are trying to accomplish with it? What issue or area is being addressed to improve the overall results or user experience?
First, Hi All, I am brand new. Great forum! :)
I had 900-1000 pages yesterday indexed by Y!
99,5% of visitors came from Y! And from today only
silence is on my site. Only homepage is indexed.
I don`t know how others, but slurp is visiting me as usually? Any idea is it temporary (i hope so) or this is a big earhqake?
Was thrilled to see that my perfectly legit site is now outranked by spam, link farms, and affiliate sites. Nice job Yahoo!
same here, at around 1-2% of normal traffic today, sure hope this is "work in progress" and we're not at the end game all ready
Same happened to me.. and I don't do spamming, I don't do Link farms, I don't do cloaking - in fact I spent six months on creating content-rich pages! I'm panicking now because, just like you, I had 95% of my visitors coming from Yahoo till this morning! I'm just drinking a bottle of wine right now and hoping for the best!
You can count me also in the > 95% traffic from Y!, today .. zero, nada, no referals. I'm still sandboxed for GG and MSN does not like me :-(... I better go to sleep.
My last Y! referral was about 23:56 Jul 19th EST. After that no referrals, only a few from GG and MSN, and some direct (no referral) visits.
Lol! New keyword to use "lawyer against yahoo"
that keyword is my only hope.. ;)
ps. I don`t see what is good here, and dont see nice job by Yahoo!. Only see my income is ruined.
"Sites well optimized, but lacking quality are definitely having a good go of it."
That's exactly what I see in my niche.
